Quote by line item
Labour and materials broken down by line item, with tracking of accepted and rejected quotes.
A mechanical installation job is quoted by line item, carried out far from the office and decided on the margin. GControl runs each job with its code, job sheets, materials and travel, and tells you what it cost against what was quoted.
The challenge
In mechanical and industrial installation work, the quote is made by line item: so many hours of labour, so much material. The profit depends on the actual work matching the quote.
To know, you need each operative's real hours on that job, the material that actually arrived and the costs of working away: travel, allowances and mileage. If that data arrives on paper at the end of the month, the job is already closed when the overrun comes to light.
How GControl solves it
Labour and materials broken down by line item, with tracking of accepted and rejected quotes.
Year, customer, type of activity and number, with its supervisor, person in charge and completion date.
Clock in and fill in the job sheet from the Android app, with normal, overtime and holiday hours.
The costs of the job and of the worker, on the job sheet.
Each delivery is charged to the job at its cost.
The real cost against what was quoted and what was invoiced, which is imported from Sage.
On site
The job's specifications and instructions are attached in the Windows program and the operatives see them in the app.
The service request, the work order, is signed at the start and at the end. At the office the job sheets are visible in real time, and each day's signed timesheet comes from the same job sheets. With the hours and the materials, the job costing of each installation job is up to date while it lasts, not once it has finished. If your company works mainly on plant maintenance, see also industrial maintenance.
For companies that work job by job and need to know what each job costs them: mechanical installation, industrial maintenance, installations, structures, technical services…, with their own staff, job sheets and materials.
With the hours on the job sheets valued at the rate card of each job grade, plus the material delivered to each job.
Yes. With the Android app they record the start, end and breaks of the working day, at your premises or at the customer's site, and fill in their job sheets with normal, overtime and holiday hours. The office sees it in real time and prints the signed timesheet.
Yes. For each job the service request is printed: the work order, signed at the start and at the end. The job is opened with its code, has a supervisor and a person in charge, receives the operatives' job sheets and is closed with its completion date.
